Evangelising open source at 2 events in college
Feeling extremely hypocritical about simply preaching and not practicing something that I strongly believe in…
Ordering a Cd on ubuntu.com
Installing Ubuntu 8.04 on my laptop…
Getting to work with the basics and letting out shreaks of delight on discovering a whole new world that is much safer,faster and cooler than Windows XP/Vista or whateva !
Getting stuck miserably at some applications…
(I did not know Root Login was locked in Ubuntu,I spent hours trying to figure out how to login as root,wanted to run Xampp as root,but then decided to change ownership for only the files that required me to have root ownership)
Googling 4 an answer, Tearing my hair out and then the bliss of having tamed the problem!
Getting hooked on to Ubuntu, rather Addicted
This, ladies and gentlemen is being Ubuntu-ed
Mood:Ubuntu-ed
Song:Meri dost from Yuvraaj !
So,what is Ubuntu ? find out more here
PS:Pardon my absence from the sphere for such a long time,been stuck up with various things in life and thoroughly enjoying being a part of too many things !
Stay good all of you and have a great week ahead !

i’m only using ubuntu as a normal user kane,not into dev anything
so not really a geek ! i have the Cd,actually 8.10 is out ,so you can order a Cd on their site
@Teky
but that is good right..you can always use “chown” from root ,and if u r talking about not able to access windows files ,then WINE is great !
It sound like some African jungle dance.
Ubuntu is excellentu tu brilliantu
It saved lot of dollors to me
How untu ask the Queen of ubuntu

@Su
Flex was awesome man ! N yeah i use ubuntu on a regular basis now though not really explored too much ! but i have no major problems with it at all
N yeah I thought u were in CS but circuits guy eh
@aareet
hi-fi
circuits? prolly i cud excuse u for this time
thr is more to ec than jus circuits… newaz… all tht sounds a distant dream… spent almost whole of this sem roaming on a near-daily basis…
@su
yeah i’m being naive
i thought “circuits” was better
shud i say DSP ?!
wat r d hot hangouts near ur coll da?Its pretty far,and what traffic! i had come to ur coll to promote the flex workshop and the traffic was bad
who said i am roaming in bangalore? of course i did it in the early part of this semester… then had been to Shaastra ‘08, techfest of IIT Chennai and within a month from that, went out with classmates on a class trip to Kerala. else, local roaming includes joints in New BEL road, Garuda or PVR, not very frequent though! would cost me too much of dear fuel, given the mileage of my bike
I’d ‘ve shown a different route to our coll… absolutely no traffic and superclean road too…
I am impressed with Ubuntu …
but not 100% satisfied … though ..
